I did not post yesterday, as it really was a wash, rinse, repeat day. We went for a drive, played outside and watched a lot of TV. Not much meat on the bone there to turn into a meaningful post, so rather than stretch the narrative, I took the day off.
Today my wife who is a nurse is at work. She is involved in the screening of all medical personnel before they come into the hospital. It's important work and she should be commended for it as one of the many unsung heroes of this pandemic.
Today's post will also be devoted to some of the less than stellar people out there during this pandemic, and no I'm not going to go off on the Tangerine Twit at the White House today. These are average, everyday people involved in WTF moments.
This from Hamilton, Ontario
It reminds me of the 1998 Simpsons Episode "Das Bus" which featured the following phone call by Homer:
Homer: " Sorry, can't come in today Mr. Smithers, I have small pox..... Well, it wasn't wiped out in my house!"
Yes, that's right. Someone actually used the Corona Virus to get out of work and caused a shutdown of the restaurant, a deep cleaning and a hope that this 18 year old girl remains anonymous or else she will be shamed like never before. When they say that teenage brains are not fully developed yet, this is what they had in mind.
From Toronto, Ontario:
Bonus points go to the people who actually believed this and ordered these online. I will give the guy who got arrested for this credit. He was selling the tests for $10 and masks for $20. At least he was not hoarding, which leads to........
Toronto, Ontario Part 2:
Congratulations Pusateri's, you got called out by Doug Ford for selling sanitizing wipes at a cool $30. Yes, that's right, you did something so egregious in the name of capitalism that you got called out by Conservative Premier Doug Ford. You know Doug Ford, he's the guy who said Ontario is "Open For Business" and is trying to kick start Ontario's economy with good old fashioned capitalism. That's who you got called out by.
Corner Brook, Newfoundland
What's more selfish than getting caught violating quarantine orders? How about violating the order again. What's worse was that she took a ferry from Nova Scotia to get to Newfoundland, and anyone who crosses into Newfoundland is subject to the 14 day order. She was reported to be wearing a mask.. which makes it all better.
Finally.
Hamilton, Ontario Pt 2
So, so proud of my hometown that they made the list twice! How much of a selfish, despicable dumb ass do you have to be to do this to another human being during a pandemic, and really anytime? Respect those who working in service base industries all the time, but this clown takes the cake, and he's 52 years old! a grown ass 52 year old man did this over a discrepancy in price. Kinda makes me want to glove up, bob and weave and dart into the 6 feet socially acceptable zone and throw some hands at this goof.
Lets stay safe, and sensible everyone so we can flatten the curve.
